Riverwood has always been committed to providing another educational choice in our community that focuses on the child since our original opening in 2011. Riverwood Community Learning Association is a Private Education Association (PEA). This program is available to more families than what we were able to serve in past years. Services provided as a PEA will be very similar to what was previously provided, an education led by the teachings of Rudolf Steiner. We will continue our commitment to the community for both students and parents with festivals, parent education, community events, and campus work parties.
A PEA is a private member association for the purpose of education that establishes its own operating guidelines and is not under the jurisdiction of the state, local, and federal government's laws and regulations. This model will allow Riverwood to serve longer into the future and staying aligned with our original mission, vision, and values.
Riverwood Community Learning Association has a strongly-held belief that every human being is a spiritual being. Our adult members work with Anthroposophy, a philosophy founded by Rudolf Steiner, which focuses on the whole individual and a humanity's future and well-being.
