Our program is movement based, Waldorf-inspired, and based on Anthroposophical ideas.
About RCLA
Riverwood has always been committed to providing another educational choice in our community that focuses on the child since our original opening as a homeschooling co-op in 2011. Riverwood Community Learning Association is a Private Educational Association (PEA).
We are looking for new members who are interested in a “new” approach to learning.
It is clear that more and more children are in need of a new understanding. Educators and parents are well aware of the difficulties and are looking for support and a place to bring any child. Mainstream approaches, which address the symptoms, are not so helpful in providing long term results or real learning. Labels create fear in both parents and educators. They separate us and consume the learning environment. Rudolf Steiner gave us a way of understanding all children in every setting. Rooted in the philosophy of Rudolf Steiner, Riverwood fosters self-reliant, morally grounded, and generous human beings—children who can think clearly, feel deeply, and act with intention in the world. Riverwood is a program based on movement, creativity, and meaningful experience.
Through hands-on, interdisciplinary learning that integrates academics, arts, and practical life skills,
children develop confidence, clear thinking, and a love of learning that lasts.
At Riverwood Community Learning Association, we believe childhood is sacred. Our Waldorf-inspired program nurtures the mind, body, and spirit, honoring each child’s unique path of development while preserving curiosity, imagination, and joy in learning. Our movement-based, edu-tech-free environment supports children in overcoming challenges while encouraging them to achieve their personal best. High standards grow naturally when
learning is individualized, compassionate, and purposeful.
We are dedicated to educating the whole child—mind, body, and spirit—by nurturing artistic, academic, physical, emotional, and moral development. We strive to preserve the wonder and integrity of childhood while providing a warm, enlivening environment that empowers children to realize their full humanity and potential. Through this work, we support the growth of self-reliant, generous individuals who are prepared to meet and contribute meaningfully to the future.
